Is Lineup free?
Yes. The reports are free and ad-free. There’s no account and no subscription.
Where are the reports?
31 Southern California spots in five regions: Los Angeles, South Bay / PV, Ventura, San Onofre & San Clemente, and San Diego.
Why do the board ratings differ?
Each board has its own size and swell-period fit at every spot, so a small, long-period day can rate higher on a longboard than on a shortboard. A board outside a spot’s usual type rates one level lower and never Epic. Both ratings stay visible.
What does “Wind unknown” mean?
The wind data is missing for that block. Lineup leaves the wind out instead of guessing, rates the swell and tide, and drops the rating one level. It can’t be Epic.
Can I use Lineup offline?
Yes. A forecast already saved on your device opens offline, labelled “Saved forecast” with its time. Sending a spot request needs a connection.
Why is there no cam at my spot?
Lineup only links a free cam that actually shows the break. If there isn’t one, the spot says “No cam for this spot yet.”
Can you add my spot?
Use Request a spot (the “Missing a spot?” link at the bottom of home) to send the spot name, the town and an optional note. Aaron reads every one, but sending it doesn’t promise the spot will be added.
Does sunset quality change the surf ratings?
No. Sunset quality is a separate read on tonight’s sky. It never changes a surf rating or the picks.
