Lineup is a free surf forecast for Southern California. It gives you information, nothing more. It’s not a substitute for your own judgment, lifeguards or official warnings, and a good rating isn’t a safety clearance.
Using the site means you accept these terms. There’s nothing to sign up for.
The ocean is dangerous
Ocean conditions are dangerous and can change fast. Forecasts can be wrong, data can be late or missing, and a spot can be closed or unsafe on any day. Check conditions, lifeguards and official warnings before you paddle out.
No warranty
Lineup is provided as is and as available, with no warranty of any kind. We don’t promise that the data is accurate, complete, current or always online. You use it at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Lineup and Aaron, who runs it, aren’t liable for any loss, injury or damage that comes from using the site or relying on its reports. Some laws don’t allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law permits.
Other sites and cams
Third-party cams and links aren’t Lineup’s. Their owners run them and set their own terms, ads and privacy policies, and Lineup doesn’t control or vouch for them. The data sources behind the forecast are listed on Sources.
Fair use
Use the site and its /api the way a person would. Don’t scrape it abusively, flood it, get around its limits or spam the request form. Respect the terms of the original data sources. We may block traffic that doesn’t.
California law
California law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
If these terms change, we’ll say so in What’s new and update the effective date at the top of this page. Using Lineup after that means you accept the new terms.
